Workshop Outline
There are three elements that make up the workshop: 1. Permaculture design: we will cover history, ethics, principles, design process and some design tools. Permaculture can be defined as ecology applied to our environment and our attitudes. The key word is design; good planning can solve any environmental, political, social and economic conflict. The problems are solutions. Through spending time at Alisler you will see, live and experience land-based sustainable design in the Mediterranean. We will be surrounded by sustainable buildings, animals, trees and water systems. 2. Together we will learn best practices for organic vegetable production, you will learn how to start plants from seed, transplant, perennial plants, mulching, care, water systems, harvesting and seed saving. You will gain the hands on experience to start your own. 3. Super adobe is a low budget sustainable construction method that involves filling bags with earth and compacting them until they are totally solid. This type of construction is creative, artistic and durable. It has many applications, from houses, play areas, or raised beds. During the workshop we will construct a bench and you will learn everything, from foundations to finishes. |
These projects will be an opportunity to let creativity flow and get your hands dirty!
Both of them can be applied in small spaces, perfect for urban areas, back gardens and public spaces.
They can be scaled up or down depending on your context and goals.
