This course will be taught by four international Permaculture designers and consultants with more than 60 years combined experience. The venue is Alişler Yurdu, a beautiful, established Permaculture site with stunning views of the Marmara Sea, only two hours from Istanbul.
Course Outline
This 15 day course is designed to give participants the inspiration and practical knowledge they need to become a positive change in the world. The course will include a broad range of topics applicable to life anywhere on this planet, tailored to the needs of the students present as well as the location at hand. We will cover every major topic in Bill Mollison’s Permaculture: a Designers Manual.
A Permaculture Design Course (PDC) is an internationally known and accepted 72-hour theory course resulting in a Permaculture Design Certificate. It provides an introduction to permaculture design according to the movement’s founder Bill Mollison. The PDC serves as a foundation for further permaculture work and studies. |

Course Schedule
After time for yoga, meditation and personal practices you will enjoy breakfast overlooking the Marmara Sea. There will be two morning sessions with a break for refreshments. After a healthy and balanced lunch there will be a slot for rest, followed by two afternoon sessions. There will be evening sessions and documentary screenings. There will be sessions during the course where participants will engage in co-creating designs for real world projects; an opportunity to start the design process of gathering and organising information for your land. So if you have land or are working with a project please bring information about the land with you. |

During this 15-day immersion in Permaculture, you will see and experience an integrated Permaculture site. Alişler Yurdu was born six years ago as a Permaculture project and has since developed into an exciting and comfortable example of sustainable living with many interesting applications of Permaculture design. Set in a stunning location overlooking the Marmara Sea. The project strives to inspire and empower self exploration, harmonious, healthy and creative lives. Teachers / Facilitators
All five teachers bring different knowledge, experiences and energy; all trained to use diverse progressive teaching methods. Sessions will be facilitated to include a range of learning styles; through lectures, participatory learning, demonstrations, practical sessions and community activities.
Matt Prosser is an international Permaculture designer, teacher, sustainable builder and founder of holisticprogressiondesigns. Matt was lead designer of Alişler Yurdu and has actively pioneered and worked with communities and projects in Asia and Europe for the last ten years. He holds a Diploma in Applied Permaculture Design from the British Permaculture Association. See Matt's portfolio here. |
Hasibe Akın was born in İzmir as the daughter of a farming family, in love with nature, she was always in search of tools to aid her comprehend the world holistically. Painting, poetry and etymology became her playground in her early years, then went on to study Architecture and Physics. She is a social entrepreneur (founder of Çatı Çiftliği - Rooftop Farm), Permaculture design consultant and architect in her professional life. See her ted talk here.

Kai Martinez is a Permaculture designer, teacher and consultant. In 2006 he studied at the Spiral Node Institute of La Palma. He has taught multiple Permaculture Design Certificates Courses, both in Spain and Colombia. He is experienced in various areas of Permaculture such as bioconstruction, regenerative agriculture, energy and facilitation. He is a certified therapist and coach and teacher, participating in the Rosemary Morrow Teacher's Training course in 2013. He holds a Diplomate and is a co-creator of the Iberian Permaculture Academy.

Baitha Bahar been researching a unifying perception to live in peace with herself and the whole for 10 years. Facilitating and running groups on spirituality, communication and compassion. She is sharing her design works and events under the name of Baitha (Life giving woman) She studied and created a workshop series called “Dilbaz - The value of compassion in communication” using creative drama teaching technic based on NVC. She has been running some esoteric work under the name of Beshara School “Discovering Unity Meetings”. She is going to be a part of the course to open up a discovery space on putting awareness on communication for sustainable living communities.

Food and Accommodation
During the workshop we will enjoy a healthy and balanced diet, mainly vegetarian, with the occasional meat and fish dish, and plenty of fruit. There will be also snacks and refreshments throughout the day. Let us know in advance if you have any specific food requirements. The accommodation is dormitory style rooms with beautiful views. There is also a natural swimming pool that you are welcome to use. |
