2.5 Hectare Holistic Landscape Design
Location: Spain (Mediterranean).
Client: Rural boutique hotel owner with adjacent 2.5 Hectare field.
Design Brief: Design the field opposite the hotel where wheat had been grown and turn it into production to supply the farm to table restaurant at the boutique hotel.
Main design decisions: Creation of an integrated system that provides organic vegetables, fruits, nuts and eggs. Water storage and distribution was defined as well as clear circulation access for both walking and vehicles, including walking paths and rest areas where guests can connect to nature and see where the fresh food they are eating in the restaurant is produced. Spacing in-between rows of trees was designed to rotate chickens for egg production. Large vegetable production area was defined that can grow with demand. Car park for guests was integrated.

The result: Master plan design for integrated 2.5 hectare Polyculture project. Clear three year implementation plan, with key activities for each quarter.
