Lead Permaculture Designer

Matt is an experienced and accredited International Permaculture designer, passionate about bringing solutions for regenerative global holistic progression through Permaculture design. Matt has been building with earth for ten years, believing it is a key factor in providing housing for all and has a six minute part on natural building in the Seeds of Permaculture documentary. Matt was supervisor for this educational and inspirational production. He has actively pioneered and worked with communities and land-based projects, both in Asia and Europe, for the last seven years and is a long-term member of the Panya Project in Thailand. Matt believes in the power of sharing knowledge and working with grassroots projects to make social change happen. He celebrates diversity and believes in a balance between the head, heart and hands. His passion for the plant realm often results in highly productive and abundant yields. Matt has been awarded a Diploma in Applied Permaculture Design by the British Permaculture Association; this is an internationally recognized three year program that formally accredits and recognizes Matt's Permaculture practice. Matt has also been trained as a Permaculture teacher in the UK and is certified as participatory facilitator and eco-village designer by Gaia Education in Thailand.

Marta is an empowering social change facilitator and consultant, a trained lawyer and world traveller, fluent in five languages. For almost ten years she worked in Brussels, in the European Commission and NGOs, as project director, network coordinator and advocacy expert (including managing a multi-country grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation). During that time she lead and co-designed advocacy strategies for social justice, in collaboration and inspired by women and youth living in the most disadvantaged communities in the world. Her passion is to be one with Nature and to find creative ways of empowering others, achieving social and environmental justice and experimenting with different approaches on how change happens. She also thrives in translating progressive initiatives into clear and concise written reports and donor proposals. Marta has a degree in Law (Universitat Pompeu Fabra) and two masters: on International Business Law (E.S.A.D.E) and European Studies (Katholieke Universiteit Leuven). She completed a Permaculture Design Course (focusing on the social dimension) certified by the British Permaculture Association and is certified as Participative Facilitator for Empowerment and as Designer for Sustainability (by Gaia Education and Universitat Oberta de Catalunya).
